Nearly 23,000 Attend WorldVentures’ UNITED 2017 Convention

Plano, Texas — May 1, 2017 WorldVentures, the leading direct seller of global travel and leisure club memberships, drew record attendance at its annual UNITED global training event in Arlington, Texas, April 7-9. UNITED brings WorldVentures Independent Representatives together from countries around the world to celebrate strength and diversity, and to build team synergy and collaboration.

“People with a common vision can move mountains. And this year we had more than 22,600 people at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with one common vision: to bring friends and family together through travel,” said WorldVentures Founder and Chief Visionary Officer Wayne Nugent. “Our Independent Representatives impacted the DFW area through their patronage of our DreamTrips Local™ merchants and participation in our DreamTrips Local Taste of Texas events. We’re making a difference in business around DFW and throughout the world. There is a vision. There is a plan. And we’re all a part of it.”

Chief Technology Officer Mike Remedios and President Eddie Head also took the stage to talk about recent developments with the highly anticipated flye™ smart card. Customized exclusively for DreamTrips members, the card uses miniaturized wireless computer technology to securely store up to 10 credit and debit cards. Beta testing is currently underway.

This year’s UNITED marked several firsts – 10 to be exact. It was the first WorldVentures event to:

  1. Take place at the world-famous AT&T Stadium
  2. Include 10 trainers from around the world
  3. Kick off with a performance by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
  4. Draw more than 22,600 WorldVentures Independent Representatives
  5. Welcome WorldVentures’ new Chief Operations Officer Brian Wing
  6. Introduce Josh Paine, new Chief Executive Officer of Rovia, our travel provider
  7. Reveal Rovia’s new membership with Virtuoso, the travel industry’s leading luxury travel consortium
  8. Unveil the upcoming DreamBody™ product line
  9. Debut “Volunteer Anthem,” a song written and performed by Megan Santos to honor the work of WorldVentures Foundation™
  10. Feature presentation of the Rudy Award – bestowed by motivational speaker Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger to Wayne Nugent

Ruettiger, who defied dyslexia and physical challenges to become a star football player for the University of Notre Dame, inspired the 1993 movie “Rudy.” The Rudy Award is presented annually to individuals who embody character, courage, contribution and commitment. Nugent was so moved by Ruettiger’s story that WorldVentures purchased his helmet and jersey as symbols to inspire the entire company.
